Warren L. Cook Sr.

Died May 3, 2008

Mechanic, Paeonian Springs

 

Warren Lee Cook Sr., 81, of Paeonian Springs, a mechanic, died May 3 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Friends may call Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at First Mount Olive Baptist Church in Leesburg. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Cook was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Fauquier County to the late John Henry Cook and Dorothy Lane Cook.

He worked as a mechanic for Herndon Lumber and Millwork and the East End Garage in Purcellville. He was a member of the Second Mount Olive Baptist Church in Brownsville.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by one son, Robert C. Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys M. Cook of Paeonian Springs; two sons, Steve M. Cook of Maryland and Warren L. Cook Jr. of Paeonian Springs; one daughter, Nina Caesar of Paeonian Springs; five brothers, Howard Cook of Herndon, Earl Cook of Hamilton, Sterling Cook of Springfield, Roosevelt Cook of Sterling and Alfred Cook of Reston; three sisters, Genevie Lynch of Silver Spring, Md., Marie Hammond of Vienna and Louise V. Cook of Oxon Hill, Md.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Lyles Funeral Service of Purcellville.
