Bluegrass in Hamilton

The Isaacs, an internationally renowned bluegrass/gospel group will be performing a free concert on April 26, at 7 PM in Hamilton, VA (at Hamilton Baptist Church - 16 E. Colonial Highway, Hamilton, VA).
The Isaacs have an incredible sound that crosses many genres and reaches people of all ages. Their background is bluegrass. Their passion is sharing that music with others. Their music is awesome!
Opening for the Isaacs will be a local bluegrass group, Gold Heart. They are winning awards and rising on the radar of bluegrass fans in the area.
The concert is a benefit for Joshua's Hands, a local nonprofit organization founded in 1999 in memory of Joshua Guthrie. He was 16 at the time of his death in a car accident. Because Joshua was a terrific community servant, the organization was founded to be Joshua's hands in the community and region. Joshua’s Hands has a five-fold ministry -- like the fingers on a hand:
1) Community Service
2) Scholarships
3) Young Drivers’ Education
4) An Annual Fall Festival
5) Education
Recently, Joshua's Hands decided to expand its work with safe driving to include the production of a Teen Safe Driving video. Virginia is the only state to require teens to go to court WITH A PARENT in order to get their license. In Loudoun County, Mrs. Guthrie has the opportunity to speak to these teens and their parents. She tells them about Joshua's accident, his life and death - hoping to make a difference by encouraging them to drive safely.
Every county in Virginia holds a similar ceremony and might benefit from the message she is able to share. Joshua's Hands has embarked on a mission to tape this message and make it available in DVD format to other counties. They have a videographer and a major contribution from USAA toward funding the project, but are still in need of funds to complete the project. They are offering a free concert to the community as a part of their fundraising efforts. They will pass the plate to take donations at the concert - in hopes that they will reach their goal of fully funding this project and reaching teens (and their parents) with a passion for safe driving.
