McDonnell headlines luncheon
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell made a stop in Loudoun County Feb. 4, his second public appearance since beginning his term less than a month ago.
The governor headlined the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting and addressed a crowd of nearly 500 county residents, government officials and business leaders.
After joking about how global warming has ceased since his inauguration – it's snowed at least once a week since he took office – the governor spoke of his to-do list, which included the need for the state to provide tax credits to attract businesses here.
Later, McDonnell took on the issue of the local composite index, the formula that determines how the state distributes education funds.

This new governor is a real mental midget. He supports a bill in the Virginia Senate that would enable permitted handguns to be brought into establishments that serve alcohol such as bars and restaurants. Good thinking, never know when some drunk is going to cause a shootout!

Thank goodness the Gov intends to sign SB334 that passed through the Senate. Thanks for preserving my 2nd Amendment, and my right to defend myself. BTW, the bill before the legislature doesn't allow law abiding CHP holders to consume alcohol while carrying concealed. Never know when you need to defend yourself from a drunk.
