Student charged with threatening Briar Woods High School

A Briar Woods High School student was charged Oct. 6 with making threats against the school.

Daeshawn T. McDonald, 18, of Ashburn, is being held on a $2,500 secured bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center after being charged with making threats to a school employee, disorderly conduct and trespassing, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

On the evening of Oct. 5, someone called the Sheriff's Office and said verbal threats were being made against the high school.

The Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers were notified, and McDonald later was identified as allegedly making the statements. He was taken into custody Monday as he was being dropped off at school, Troxell said.
