Middleburg Bank goes 'green'

Middleburg Bank has been recognized by the Leesburg Town Council as the first building in Leesburg to be LEED Certified.

In an effort to be more environmentally responsible, Middleburg Bank has designed its latest branch -- and will build all future buildings -- for certification by the United States Green Building Council’s LEED program,” said a press release issued Sept. 19 by Middleburg Bank.

"The LEED system uses points to rate a building’s energy efficiency and overall impact on the environment. The Fort Evans Branch is striving for the Gold Standard as established by the USGBC, although it appears the office will receive 38 points, which is one short of the Gold Standard," the release continued.
