Bluemont
KLB, the Winks' trip, camping, flower sale, RHVFD events and a dinner danceBy Ruth Holland
KLB update: From all the orange bags I have seen along the road, it looks like the Keep Loudoun Beautiful was successful here in Bluemont.
Winks' travels: Earlier in April, Jim and Tracee Wink along with Joe Wink went to their Saigon Mission Reunion in San Diego. Instead of flying as they usually do, this year they drove to the West Coast. They were planning on doing some sightseeing on the trip. They were due to arrive home on Friday or Saturday.
Camping trip: I wasn't around when the Winks returned. I was on my annual camping trip with the Boy Scouts. Not with young boys, but the training session for new leaders. This is the only camping I do these days. Old age is creeping up on me.
Flower sale: Don't forget to get your flowers for Mom from the Round Hill Fire Department on Friday and Saturday.
Round Hill VFD has several other events coming up in May, including the annual photo fund drive door-to-door solicitations. The folks will be wearing Round Hill shirts for identification. The second annual RHVFD Golf Tournament will be May 19 at Stoneleigh. For more information, contact Kim Walker at 703-216-8339. And the RHVFD annual open house is scheduled on May 24 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Dinner dance: The HSCBA and the Clarke County Rotary will co-hosting a dinner dance at Blue Ridge Fire Station Hall on May 31.
Birthdays: Upcoming birthdays include Alex Earley, May 8; Nicolette Polend, May 9; and Kim and Kaitlin McClung, May 11.
