U.S., Italy to face off with polo, cuisine, fashion in Leesburg: The Land Rover America’s Polo Cup takes place this weekend at Morven Park with fine wine, fine entertainment, fine fashion, fine food and a fine polo match between the United States and Italy.The weekend kicks off at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 9, with the United States vs. Italy Culinary Competition, Virginia Wine Competition and the International Fashion Show titled “Rockin' the Runway.” Models will showcase fashions from top Italian and American designers. Leading chefs from both countries ?including Chef Enzo Febbraro of the acclaimed Washington, D.C., restaurant D’Acqua ?will compete in the culinary challenge. Live music and dancing will follow. The polo matches begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, when the returning U.S. team and the challenging Italian team hit the field. Directly following the polo match, Huey Lewis and the News will rock the stage during a live concert. A half-time show will feature the U.S. Coast Guard helicopters and a ceremonial divot stomp, complete with live music by Virginia’s well-known band No Speed Limit.
