Kaine to discuss state budget in Ashburn Monday

Kaine visitGov. Tim Kaine (D) will be at Ashburn's Farmwell Station Middle School on March 31 to discuss Virginia's budget and the legislation passed during this year's General Assembly session.
The event is part of a series of town hall meetings Kaine is conducting throughout Virginia until the General Assembly reconvenes in April.
The meeting is open to all residents, and signing up to attend is not required. Kaine will take questions from the public.
The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The school is at 44281 Gloucester Parkway.
Loudoun growth
A new report by the U.S. Census Bureau proves what people in Loudoun already know -- Loudoun has grown a great deal this decade.
According to new population estimates, Loudoun, at a growth rate of 64.4 percent, was the fifth-fastest growing county in the nation between 2000 to 2007, among counties with at least 10,000 residents.
The counties that placed ahead of Loudoun were Kendall in Illinois; Flagler in Florida; Rockwall in Texas; and Pinal in Arizona.
For growth leaders between July 2006 and July 2007, Loudoun, however, placed 35th in the country, at a 4.9 percent rate of growth.
The Census Bureau estimates Loudoun's population at 278,797.
Public input
The Board of Supervisors has its next business meeting on April 1 in Leesburg. Residents, can address supervisors the night before, on March 31, during the public input session. That session begins at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. S.E, Leesburg.
Parks planning
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is holding a meeting at the Arcola Community Center March 27 to seek input from residents on its strategic plan and major objectives for the future.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The community center is at 24328 Goshen Road in Aldie.
