Locks for life

Just a week after two Harmony Intermediate School teams were top fundraisers in the western Relay For Life, ninth-grade dean Kelley Hines and world history teacher Joey Mathews sacrificed their flowing locks for the cause.

Ten staff members volunteered to have their faces prominently displayed on collection jars in the cafeteria in the weeks before the annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Hines' and Mathews' jars collected the most money, and they 'won' the prize of having their heads shaved.

The head shaving brought in $1,479.49 for the American Cancer Society.
