Get the right entity
The Loudoun Small Business Development Center is holding a seminar titled “Selecting the right business entity ... How to make your business work for you” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place.
Keith Troxell, a tax attorney, will review and compare the legal, tax and business aspects of basic forms of business organization. Highlights will include the advantages and disadvantages of each type of entity, legal and regulatory requirements, limiting personal liability, minimizing income and employment taxes, and reducing organizational costs. The seminar is suitable for new business owners as well as existing business owners who may want to restructure their form of business.

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce staff members invite everyone to visit their new office, 19301 Winmeade Drive, Suite 210, Lansdowne, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Homeownership 101
The Loudoun County Department of Family Services will hold its next "Intro to Homeownership" class Sept. 8 and Sept. 10, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place.
The county provides free workshops to assist potential first-time home buyers in understanding the process. The six-hour workshop covers topics including budgeting, credit, working with Realtors, the mortgage process and what to expect at settlement.
The workshops are held several times throughout the year over a two-evening time period from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at various locations. Attendance at both sessions is required. Executive Breakfast series
The Executive Breakfast Series will host commercial real estate brokers at The Stables, 206 Wirt St. N.W., Leesburg from 8 to 10 a.m.
Barrett Industries Commercial Real Estate brokers Dale Hoxie and Judy Wilson will discuss why it is important to have tenant/buyer representation during commercial real estate transactions.

Chamber Golf Classic
The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 25th Annual Golf Classic at Belmont Country Club, 19661 Belmont Manor Lane, Ashburn, from noon to 7 p.m.
The event is in support of Loudoun Interfaith Relief Inc.
Registration is required; prices range from $250 to $6,000.

Start your business
Loudoun Small Business Development Center will hold a seminar on starting a business at Thomas Balch Library, 208 W. Market St., Leesburg, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Small business specialist Robin Suomi and marketing and insurance specialist Terry Corle will speak. Highlights of the seminar will include taxes, licensing, accounting and record keeping, business plan development, sources of financing, marketing and insurance.
