Three arrested for shot fired into home

Three people have been charged in connection with a July 4 incident where a gunshot was fired into a house in Ashburn.

Bryan J. Ortiz, 20, and Jeffrey T. Brown, 21, both of Ashburn, were charged with hindering an investigation, while a 17-year-old male was charged with reckless use of a firearm. The teenager's name was not released because he is a juvenile, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

Amid the noise of fireworks July 4, residents in the 20400 block of Needleleaf Way heard a loud pop. Then they saw a bulge in a bedroom wall of the house and found a hole on the outside of the house, Troxell said.

After the incident was reported to police, deputies arrived and found a bullet lodged in the wall, Troxell said.

Police have recovered the gun that was used, Troxell said.
