Photography Expo: The organizers of the second annual Claude Moore Park Photography Expo are looking for nature photographers for a juried exposition that will take place Sept. 27, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sept. 28, noon-5 p.m., at 21544 Old Vestals Gap Road in Sterling.This year's theme is "Nature and People Enjoying Nature." Photographers of all ages and levels of experience are invited to apply. Photographs will be displayed in the historic Lanesville House.

Fall into the Arts: Leesburg Crossroads' Fall Into the Arts Committee invites all artists in any fine art medium to submit work by Aug. 30 for a juried art exhibit at Leesburg's sixth annual Fall Into the Arts Festival.
This year's festival will be Sept. 27, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., in historic downtown Leesburg and will include live music as well as special exhibits on the town green and throughout the downtown shops.
A jury will choose one piece of artwork, valued up to $1,000, for the Town of Leesburg's permanent art collection in the Town Hall. Leesburg Crossroads sponsors the purchase.
Artists may submit photos or jpeg files on a CD of up to three original works, along with a $25 entry fee, to Fall Into the Arts, c/o Loudoun Academy of the Arts, 222 S. King St., Leesburg, VA 20175.

Waterford Fair: The Waterford Foundation announced the guidelines for the art and photography exhibits held each year in conjunction with the Waterford Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit.
The Waterford Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit, also known as the Waterford Fair, takes place Oct. 3-5. The three-day festival is held throughout the National Historic Landmark Village of Waterford and is the oldest juried crafts fair in the state. Two of the highlights of the weekend are the Art Exhibit and the Photography Exhibit. Both offer awards. Columbus Day Parade: The Good Samaritan Council 6175 Knights of Columbus will stage its 27th annual Columbus Day parade Oct. 11 in Sterling Park.
Grand Knight John Reaser is inviting entries from bike riders, marching bands, music groups, community and civic organizations, antique car owners, military units, youth groups, those with special floats, athletic leagues and school groups.
The parade will form at Park View High School, and the first unit will step off at 10 a.m. The route will be Laurel Avenue to Sterling Boulevard, south to Holly Avenue and west to the Knights of Columbus Barn.
Refreshments will be provided to all parade participants at The Barn.
