A 47-year-old cleaning lady was charged Aug. 5 with stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from her clients' homes.

Mirian Martinez was charged with grand larceny, obtaining money by false pretenses and larceny with intent to sell/distribute, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

The charges result from an incident when several pieces of jewelry were taken from a house on Gazelle Court in South Riding, Troxell said.

The investigation involved several Northern Virginia law enforcement agencies. Martinez works under the company name of Marian Cleaning Services, based in Alexandria. She has long-time clients throughout the area.

She remains held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, Troxell said.

Anyone who believes he or she may be a victim is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 703-777-0475.
