Concert on the Green, family story time and back-to-school events

Concert on the Green: The Friday concert series continues on the green. This Friday, Aug. 8, the Dixie Power Trio will entertain with the sounds of Louisiana. They perform a combination of zydeco, Cajun, New Orleans jazz, funk, street parade and rock. Gather your friends and neighbors for a unique music experience. The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. on the town green.
Family story time: The Loudoun County Public Library and the Friends of the Gum Spring Library are sponsoring a family story time beginning Sept. 16. The program is for children ages 2 and older with their parents or caregivers, and will meet at 11 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month in the community room of the Dulles South Safety Center (25216 Loudoun County Parkway). Back-to-school events: There are several open houses, back-to-school nights and student orientations on the horizon in August and September. Be sure to call your school or check your child’s individual school Web site or the Loudoun County Public School Web site at http://cmsweb1.loudoun.k12.va.us/loudoun/site/default.asp for important dates and information.
