Independence Day winners, carnival cancellation

Independence Day winners: The Lovettsville Community Center Advisory Board would like to congratulate the following winners for the Lovettsville Independence Day celebration parade, held July 3.
Bike Decorating: 1st place – Zachary Olsen; 2nd place – Abigail Zachritz;
Antique Vehicle: 1st place – John Wheeler, 1933 Blue Ford Speedster; 2nd place – Jeff Lutman, Pink T-Bird
Marching Group: 1st place – Lance Cpl. Lee McPeak; 2nd place – Lovettsville Park Patrol
Float: 1st place – Lovettsville Dolphin Swim Team; 2nd place – J.P. Shores Landscaping
General/Other: 1st place – Bobby Zoldos, vice mayor of Lovettsville; 2nd – West End Motors
Judges Award: Andy Catsakis, Old Army Trucks and Vehicles
Carnival cancellation: M&M Amusements has canceled our annual carnival for reasons beyond our control. We will, however, be raffling off the Magnavox 32-inch digital HDTV. The carnival was one of our bigger money-makers to keep us focused on providing activities for the community at the building and pond. If you or know anyone who would like to help our cause and possibly win a nice TV, give me a call or e-mail me and I will bring the tickets to you.
