Varsity rewind: April 7 games

Baseball

Broad Run 7, Heritage 0: Cole Shain pitched six strong innings, striking out seven and allowing four hits. Andrew Mann scored three runs, while Ryan Diviney and Adam Luhman each drove in two runs. Brenton Peters had two hits for the Pride.

Stuart 12, Freedom 7: The Eagles connected for 13 hits against Stuart pitcher Sam Horton, but stranded 11 baserunners. Sophomore Anthony Perez and junior Kyle Groome each had three hits for Freedom.

Softball

Broad Run 8, Heritage 0: Caitlyn Delahaba pitched a no-hitter, striking out 16 and walking only one. Jenn Soroka, Ashley Kramer and Karla Powell had three hits each.

Boys' soccer

Stone Bridge 1, McLean 0: Junior defender Chris Kamara score his second game-winning goal of the season off a corner kick from sophomore defender Abdul Shaban in the 25th minute. Junior goalkeeper Matt Miscione again came up with several key plays to help secure the win.

Girls' lacrosse

Broad Run 15, Freedom 2: A fast midfield transition fueled by Kate Sistare, Meredith Rogers and Nina Dunay, sparked the Spartan attack which was led by Meredith Rogers, Katie Mesmer, Kailey Phillips, and Aubrey Neuhart. A total of 10 Spartans scored.  Krysten Johnson and Brogan Dublin, goalie Allison Bogle and Emily Patterson sparked the defense.

Loudoun County 13, Heritage 8: Shaz Keeley and Liz Macier scored two goals each for the Pride in the loss.

Boys' tennis

Freedom 7, Park View 2: The Eagles won their first match. Freedom swept three doubles matches and received singles victories from Mike Phillips, David Spitz, Zach Dixon and Raj Deshpande.

Girls' tennis

Park View 7, Freedom 2: Krista McManus, Megan Brown, Thuy Nguyen, Anastasia Heimann and Lindsey Kibler won in singles for the Patiots.  Brown and McManus, along with Katie Antonacci and Sara Groves posted doubles wins.

Broad Run 5, Dominion 4:  Alex Creech and Rei Prasad earned the decisive win at No. 3 doubles. Angela Angiollilo, Caitrin Dwyer, Alex Creech and Carrie Sartor were singles winners for the Spartans.
