Director named for new revitalization group: On Oct. 21, the newly formed Downtown Improvement Association in Leesburg hired a full-time executive director, Lisa Capraro. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization along with membership growth and community outreach. She will work out of the law offices of Burnett & Williams in downtown Leesburg.
Capraro was most recently the downtown coordinator in the Town of Leesburg’s Economic Development Department. Before that, she worked at Oatlands, a historic plantation south of Leesburg, as director of retail sales. Capraro holds a bachelor’s in English and anthropology from the University of Virginia.
Formed in March 2007, the Downtown Improvement Association is made up of of business and property owners, residents, partner organizations and other stakeholders interested in improving the economic and cultural vitality of downtown Leesburg.
Ritz-Carlton names manager: Veteran golf professional and general manager Jason Paul has been named general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Creighton Farms, a 7,200-yard Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, slated to open in spring 2008 as part of the 181-home gated golf community on U.S. 15, just north of U.S. 50.
Paul will oversee the operations, management and development of the new private club and course. Paul comes to the position after having served since 1999 as general manager of Clifton, Virginia’s Westfields Golf Club, which was named Marriott Golf Property of the Year twice under his direction
Wolfe hired at Friberg: Sue Wolfe recently became the operations director with Round Hill-based Friberg Financial Group, a personal financial planning and wealth management firm. Wolfe has an MBA in finance from Columbia University and a certificate in financial planning from Bryant College.
