Tourism group seeks award nominations
The Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association is accepting nominations for the 2007 LCVA Annual Tourism Awards.
The LCVA Tourism Awards Program showcases the work, service, creativity and contributions of individuals and organizations as they relate to tourism promotion in Loudoun County.
All award entries must be for individuals, organizations or programs, and recognize accomplishments for activities or events that occurred or were completed during 2007.
Nominations for the following award categories will be evaluated by the LCVA Tourism Awards Committee in January 2008:
Employee of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Tourism Event of the Year
Tourism Promotion/Campaign of the Year
Humanitarian Award
Judy Patterson Tourism Award
The awards will be presented at the LCVA’s Annual Meeting and Tourism Awards Luncheon in March 2008.
Award entry forms and judging criteria can be accessed online at www.VisitLoudoun.org/lcva/industryrecognition. Entries must be received at the LCVA Office at 222 Catoctin Circle, S.E., Leesburg by Jan. 18, 2008.

Virginia Commerce Bank opens
The new 2,800-square-foot Virginia Commerce Bank at 341 E. Market St. in Leesburg held its grand opening Nov. 29. The bank, which occupies the former Knossos Restaurant, was constructed by Ashburn-based Dietze Construction.
