If not Champagne...

Mulled Wine for the Holidays

Mulled Wine with Cinnamon & Cognac

2 1/4 cups water
2 Tbsp sugar
2 whole cinnamon sticks
2 bottles red wine (go with inexpensive Bordeaux or Virginia wine!)

1/2 cup Cognac
Lemon twists

Bring water, cinnamon and sugar to a boil in a large saucepan. Add in the wine, heat slowly until hot again. Stir in the cognac, and remove from heat.

I like to keep mine in a Crockpot.  Makes the home smell all Christmassy and I always have it on hand for guests.

HO HO HO

and Cheers!

Add lemon twists to each serving.
