I'm gonna cut you up so bad, you're gonna wish I no cut you up so bad.

A little overdue but that won't stop me

Assassin's Creed was released in November of 2007 but with all of the great games that have come out I decided to wait. I think I was either in the Halo 3, COD 4, Mass Effect or Guitar Hero III phase. I've finally gotten a chance to play the game that IGN gave a 7.7 which caused fanboy's around the world to revolt by flooding message boards and calling the reviewer, gay, idiot, and a hater.

I'm about 8 hours into the game and I'm still enjoying it. Does this mean that I think IGN's Hillary Goldstein is an idiot because he didn't enjoy the game as much as I am? Negatory. What his review did, was give me an idea of what the game has to offer, and how it effected his experience playing the game. It has not changed my view of the game. As far as I'm concerned, Assassin's Creed is a great game. It has its fair share of problems, but my overall impression of the game is very positive.

Aside from have to complete the same tasks over and over again, the enemy AI isn't the greatest. The farther I get in the game, the sloppier I become in my abilities to blend in. I went from only killing the guards that were harassing the citizens of Damascus, to slaughtering everyone in Jerusalem. When you learn counter-attack and break-hold, you can pretty much kill everyone in the city without a hassle. I'm sure I'm not the only one that does this, but there are cracked-out crazy guys walking around each city that will shove you if you get to close. This is extremely annoying so as soon as I see them I'll walk right up to them and deck'em and that sends them stumbling off. That is an example of something you wouldn't do in real life, but when you punch a crazy person in a video game, it is enjoyable and therapeutic.

When it comes to assassinations, I haven't gotten one right yet. Instead of sneaking up and stabbing the target in the throat, I'll draw attention to myself and have to kill everyone like Rambo single handedly taking down the entire Russian army.

From movies I've seen on YouTube, the game seems to be a little glitchy but I haven't noticed any except for a guy walking around, parallel to the ground. I've seen some guards humping walls but I'll let that slide.

With all that said the game is beautiful and the climbing mechanics are unbelievable. You can literally climb anything you can get your hands on. The fighting is fun and gruesome, even though it's child's play to commit mass genocide with ease. When you successfully pull off a counter attack or other combo while in a fight, the camera will jump to a side or off-skew angle for a bloody cinematic kill. One subject that has been debated is that enemies wait for their turn to attack when they have you surrounded. This was dumb at first but, if all of the enemies attacked you at once the fighting would be so taxing that it wouldn't be fun. However, this would force you to run for cover, making for a more realistic experience. I guess we'll have to wait for Assassin's II to find out.

This might be considered a review, but I'll call it a reflection of my time playing the game. I won't give it a score because scores are meaningless. Besides, I bet most of you have already played and beaten this game. Yeah, so what, big deal, wanna fight about it?
