Dougherty back on the sidelines

It did not take long for Mike Dougherty to rejoin the football coaching fraternity.

Dougherty, who spent the past five seasons at Dominion High School in Sterling, was named Stonewall Jackson's new football coach May 5.

Stonewall's new frontman will go from coaching one gifted running back to another. After guiding Dominion freshman sensation Deandre Reaves last fall, Dougherty now gets to work with Damien Thigpen, a University of Tennesse commit.

Check out Robert Daski's story in the Manassas Journal Messenger.
