Is it game time yet?

Varsity basketball teams from Heritage (boys) and Loudoun County (girls) have been slowed in their quest to clinch Dulles District championships.

Both teams entered the week needing just one win in their final two regular season games to capture district titles and secure an automatic berth into the Region II playoffs.

So what's causing the delay?

Mother Nature.

Loudoun County Public Schools closed early Tuesday and were cancelled all together Wednesday due to inclement weather.

The cancellations included all after-school activities, including the postponement of athletic events.

Both squads were scheduled to play Tuesday and then again Wednesday. Heritage is now set to lace up its sneakers Thursday and Loudoun County will take the court again Friday.

The updated schedule looks like this, weather permitting.

Thursday, Feb. 14

Dominion at Heritage (boys), 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 15

Loudoun County (girls) at Heritage, 7:30

Heritage (boys) at Loudoun County, 7:30

Saturday, Feb. 16

Loudoun County (girls) at Freedom, 4 p.m.
