The Raiders and the Bees

For a second straight year, a team of Bees is the lone roadblock to Loudoun County High School securing a spot in the Group AA State volleyball championship match.

The Raiders square off with the Brookville Bees in the state semifinals Friday afternoon at VCU’s Siegel Center. Loudoun County outlasted Brookville in five games last year in the same round to move on to the final, where they fell to Cave Spring.

If the Raiders (26-0) can avoid the Bees’ sting once again, they will play Grafton or Northside for the state championship Saturday.

Spirit Buses are rolling out of the LCHS parking lot Friday, and plenty of friends and family are sure to make the drive south to VCU to offer vocal and morale support.

Keep www.LoudounTimes.com bookmarked for tournament updates. We’ll be at the Siegel Center to bring you detailed coverage.

Good luck Raiders! Bring home the championship trophy.
