Would you not agree that these Promethean Boards will be most effective if teachers know how to use them? Are you going to provide training to the teachers in how to use the technology?
As a future educator, I find it amazing that the school board has agreed to spend so much money on these boards when the majority of them will probably go to waste. As great as it is to have the most current technology, I question how neccessary it is to have one in every classroom at this time.
Even if the teachers are trained, the majority of them will probably only be using it as a fancy whiteboard when there is so much more they can do because it takes a lot of extra time to program the boards- time that, sadly, most teachers do not have.
You said you observed teachers using the boards but how many were actually using them? How many of the boards are just sitting idle in the classrooms?
When will we see a salary increase? Smaller class sizes? Adding one student a year to a classroom may not make a big difference but what happens when you add one student a year for five years?
