Countdown begins

We're doing push-ups in the Times-Mirror newsroom to get ready for blowout coverage the night of Tuesday, Nov. 6.

We will be at selected polling precincts throughout Loudoun, and two reporters will be stationed in two districts -- east and west -- at 5:30 a.m., waiting for the polls to open at 6. The two crusaders, who requested extra pay (ha-ha), will get extra pizza instead that night.

Needless to say, it's all hands on deck here on Election Night. Every newsroom staffer will be involved, along with a couple of part-timers.

Not to toot our horn, but we're pumped about coverage Nov. 6 -- both online and in the print version the next day.

We'll be recording vote totals online throughout the evening as results come in at the county's Board of Elections.

We'll even attend some parties to hear what the Republican and Democrat winners and losers have to say.

Check out our Voters Guide at www.LoudounTimes.com and in the Oct. 31 print edition. Online, click on the Voters Guide icon on the right-hand side at the top of the home page to access candidate profiles. In the print eastern edition, go to pages A14-17. In the Leesburg and west edition, go to pages A11-14.

Only a few days remain. Then, this madness will end. Remember -- vote to make a difference.

You have really improved your paper, even though I don't always agree with you! Good job! Looking forward to the election coverage.
