August aren't dog days for us

We have some interesting stories coming up this week, including an in-depth look at the Salamander project in Middleburg. The vote is set for Aug. 9.

The LTM sports staff is hard at work in preparation for the special high school football preview section Aug. 29.

Folks continue to talk (and e-mail) about our recent editorial supporting the Crosstrail project and Mayor Umstattd's response to that editorial. It's Jim Haynes' turn to speak out this week. Agree or disagree, it's good to maintain dialogue.

Just so you know, deadline for letters to the editor is 9 a.m. Monday for that week's edition. And the same letter writer can only be published once within a six-week span. Letters should be e-mailed to: LTMEditor@timespapers.com or dropped off at the LTM office, 9 E. Market St., Leesburg.

See you next week.
