It's catch-up time
Catch up on your to-do list this weekend because next Friday is another big opening night in Fairfax, with shows playing for several weeks.
Five shows open Jan. 18: "An Experiment with an Air Pump" in Reston; "Goldilocks on Trial" in Centreville; "Red Hot & Cole" in McLean; "Prelude to a Kiss" in Vienna; and "Some Girl(s)" in Manassas.

Auditions
A reminder that Elden Street Players is auditioning for "The Memory of Water" by Shelagh Stephenson this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 3-5 p.m. ESP is auditioning for six parts: Four roles are for women in their 30s and 40s, and two are for men in their 30s to 50s. The production runs March 21 to April 12.
The auditions take place at 750 Center St., in Herndon.
Attention to physical similarities will be included in casting decisions. Modified British accents will be used. Preferred but not required is a prepared brief monologue to illustrate comic timing and accent, plus cold readings from the script.

The Vienna Theatre Company is auditioning for "Father of the Bride" by Caroline Francke on Feb. 4 and 5. Details will follow. The production opens in mid-April; VTC is looking for 11 men, seven women, and three or four extras. For information, visit www.viennatheatrecompany.org.
